Pursuit United is the perfect blend from distilleries in three different states. These barrels of rye and wheated bourbons were united to create an uncommon whiskey. A blend of mashbills that has both fruit and spice. A bespoke blend catering to the whiskey enthusiast, from the founders of the popular podcast, Bourbon Pursuit. Pursuit United was created to show "the art of the blend." There are so many bourbons and whiskeys on the market, it's hard to know what makes one different from the one next to it on the shelf. Many distilleries have a single mashbill and create 10 or 20 different products from it. Other brands source whiskey from a factory in Indiana and put it in a bottle. While these methods have proven to be effective, we felt a new story had to be told. Pursuit United showcases how different mashbills, from different distilleries in completely different states and aging environments, can create a bourbon that the world has not seen. It starts out with the base product from a distillery in Tennessee that is NOT located in Tullahoma. This particular distillery can't be disclosed, but the first time we tasted their whiskey, we were blown away. The dark color and depth of flavor was something we hadn't come across in a bourbon less than 10 years old. We had an existing relationship with Finger Lakes Distilling in New York that creates some of the best wheated bourbon on the market. Their differentiation is barrel entry proof of 100. This allows the whiskey to interact with the barrel to develop more fruit characteristics. We like to say it's like chewing on a piece of juicy fruit. The final component is from Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky. This adds additional layers, such as vanilla, caramel, and honey, that are common in Kentucky bourbons. To create our particular blend, it took more than a year in research and development, and testing hundreds of blend amounts and proof points, as well as listening to critical feedback from our colleagues. With "Bourbon Pursuit" ranked the best whiskey podcast (Player FM, 2022), we knew we had to knock it out of the park. If we didn't, we would be the laughing stock of the whiskey world.
