About
The Laws Four Grain Bourbon story starts with two Colorado family farms where heritage corn and heirloom varietals of wheat, barley, and rye are grown. Those grains find their expression during our labor-intensive cooking technique, bringing each grain's character to life. At the same time, open-air sour mash adds soulful complexity. An entirely novel bourbon unfolds after years in 53-gallon charred oak barrels, influenced by the high-altitude climate. This Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel 1453 was picked by a panel of judges as the first selection of the Tasting Alliance's "Shades of Blue" series. Its blue theme, "sky blue," honors the more than 300 days of sunshine and blue sky days that Denver enjoys every year. This series endeavors to further recognize and promote astounding multi-award-winning distilleries, having received top marks at Tasting Alliance-hosted programs. Having learned their stories, we have collaborated to select distinct releases that capture the voice and virtue of the work behind this brand. From Mark Erickson, LAWS Brand Director: Barrel 1453 really stood out among the options we sampled. It has the characteristics of the flagship Four Grain Bourbon and unique notes that make picking a single barrel so much fun. In particular, the honey-sweetened peach flavors and aromas make this whiskey a crowd-pleaser for the whisk(e)y novice and expert alike.
