      Beyond the Label

      This 10-year-old Càirdeas edition brings everyone together to celebrate 30 years of Friends of Laphroaig. Distillery Manager, Barry MacAffer, chose to create an ode to our Friends using two well-loved Càirdeas releases: 2019’s Triple Wood and 2021’s PX Cask. Married together by our Master Blender, Calum Fraser, in an age statement harking back to our first Càirdeas expressions. This is a Laphroaig that matches our punchy, reeky peat smoke and minerality with fruitier, sweeter qualities.​ Càirdeas means “friendship” in Gaelic. Every year we release a new limited edition bottling in honor of our Friends. Enjoy neat, over ice or with a few drops of purified water.

      ​A Càirdeas release is always special. It’s where we create something that’s just for our Friends. It’s 30 years since we started the Friends of Laphroaig, so this edition of our friends’ cask favourites is our way to say slàinte!​

      Aroma

      Brazil nut toffee brittle, with sweet vanilla custard notes and baking spice, followed by milk chocolate covered raisins and spiced orange. The PX cask influence brings a sweetness of dates and dried figs while an aromatic and earthy peat smoke lingers in the background.

      Taste

      Rich, sweet and oily on the palate, with notes of smoked orange toffee, stewed peaches and smouldering campfire. Sultanas, orange peel and apricots balance with hints of coffee grounds and liquorice root, accompanied by a long lasting, medicinal and slightly herbal finish.

      Finish

      Long, slightly sweet and dry with a long, slightly peppery peat-rich smoky finish.
