Historias y Memorias is an artisanal Mezcal made in San Matatlán, Oaxaca, Mexico by Maestro Mezcalero Jose Luis Hernández.
The agave is crushed by horse-drawn tahona and then fermented using natural yeast for 5–8 days in open wooden vats. The fermented agave is then distilled twice in copper stills.
Product Type | Mezcal |
Style | Joven |
ABV | 46% |
Country | Mexico |
Region | Oaxaca |
Awards | 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition – Gold, 90 points. 2023 Las Vegas Global Spirit Awards – Gold, 94 pts. |
Petrichor, cactus, prickly pear. Fresh and inviting. Not overly smoky as some mezcals can be.
Creamy and balanced. Citrus with a touch of clay and tropical fruit followed by peppermint. The acidity and minerality are present and welcome in the balance of this elegant agave distillate.
Here the citrus carries out a long dance with the light smoke and clay, creating an enjoyable end to a wonderful experience.
