Every bottle of Garrison Brothers is overflowing with the finest, gourmet-grade ingredients on the planet. The nectar inside was made from a sweet mash bill and heat-forged in the scorching Texas sun, extracting all the flavor possible from our new American white oak barrels. This yields a darker, richer, and fuller bourbon than any out there.
Garrison Brothers' single barrel program is unique in offering the chance to select a highly curated 15-gallon barrel. This ensures that what is selected is something genuinely distinctive and highly coveted. Our ReserveBar Tasting Panel selected this barrel (S3B2 / 13343) with the prompting of Master Distiller Donnis Todd. It resulted in just 36 bottles, which makes it an incredibly limited release and a delightful pour —the embodiment of unique, authentic bourbon with unparalleled taste.
From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member:
If you want to explore how astounding terroir attributes can impact bourbon aging, you should look no further than Garrison Brothers in Hye, TX. Leveraging every aspect of their environment, most prominently the heat, they have been able to develop truly enjoyable, high-proof, flavorful, bold releases after aging just a few years. This 15-gallon single barrel is an astounding example of this work, coming to you at 135.3-proof, having aged five years and one month.
To make this single barrel selection, we traveled down to Hye, Texas with Uproxx Spirits Editor, Zach Johnston to explore one of the original Rickhouses at Garrison to find just the right barrel. We can identify which barrels to taste and select using a mix of art and feel. We had a little help with this specific barrel, as Master Distiller Donnis Todd chose it to taste and consider. It was an instant standout, and for good reason. On the nose, you'll discover a blend of oatmeal cookies, chocolate, jam, and toasted oak. This leads you to flavors of cacao, candied fruit, whole-grain bread, and maple syrup. The finish is bold and long with Cherry, pipe tobacco, nutty, mint, honey, and herbal notes. Given that this is just a 15-gallon barrel, it is truly a short barrel, yielding just 36 bottles.
