About
Every bottle of Garrison Brothers is overflowing with the finest, gourmet-grade ingredients on the planet. The nectar inside was made from a sweet mash bill and heat-forged in the scorching Texas sun, extracting all the flavor possible from our new American white oak barrels. This yields a darker, richer, and fuller bourbon than any out there. Garrison Brothers' single barrel program is unique in offering the chance to select a highly curated 15-gallon barrel. This ensures that what is selected is genuinely something distinctive and highly coveted. This barrel (S3B1 / 21084) was chosen by our ReserveBar Tasting Panel with the prompting of Lynn Hall, our Director of Operations. It resulted in just 42 bottles, so if you're lucky enough to get your hands on it, you can rest assured that it will be a prized pour—the embodiment of unique, authentic bourbon with unparalleled taste. From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member: Texas bourbon truly is unlike any out there, and Garrison Brothers has been one of those leading the way in defining the unique profile of this spirit. Using every aspect of the Hye, TX terroir, most prominently the climate, Master Distiller Donnis Todd has leveraged the impact of the Texas heat to develop something extraordinary. The spirit can age over a shorter timespan because of it resulting in deeper colors to the bourbon, complex flavors that let the grain shine, and frequently higher proofs that accentuate every aspect of the profile while giving depth whether you enjoy your whiskey neat or for someone who enjoys their whiskey on a rock. For this pick, we traveled down to Hye, Texas with Uproxx Spirits Editor, Zach Johnston to explore their first rickhouse, now filled with 15-gallon barrels, to find the right one. This process is a balance of art and feel, and ultimately, this was the pick of Lynn Hall, our Director of Operations. And she picked one incredible barrel that our panel of 6 tasters selected. You'll discover notes of fresh berries, cereal, honey, cinnamon, and oak on the nose. The flavors reveal dried fruit, vanilla, herbal tea, and toasted grains. This leads to a lingering finish within this 130.1-proof pour full of walnuts, butterscotch, figs, grains, sage, and mint dusting. It is bold, bright, and complex. Given that these releases are only 15-barrel selections, having worked through the years of Texas heat, this pick is an actual short barrel with just 36 bottles.
