About
Winery Notes The Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc white wine is a blend of several different vineyards from some of the most sought-after areas in Napa Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested at their peak of ripeness and fermented in stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels to highlight the natural acidity and vibrancy while remaining classily balanced. Tasting Notes This brilliant white wine is brimming with aromas and flavors of citrus, honeydew melon, peach and lemongrass. Refreshing acidity and a long, clean finish. Vineyard Notes With a winemaking legacy dating to 1886, Freemark Abbey is one of Napa Valley’s original Cabernet Houses. The winery’s rich heritage and pedigreed approach to winemaking in Rutherford cement Freemark Abbey as an enduring beacon of quality and tradition that spans multiple generations. Freemark Abbey dates back to 1881, when Josephine and John Tychson purchased 147 acres in the Napa Valley. Eight decades later, Freemark Abbey helped launch the modern era of California wine. In the 1960s and early 1970s, the Bosché Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, known as Cabernet Bosché, was considered one of the most iconic bottlings in the United States and the Chardonnay proved that California could produce world-class wines from this noble variety. Freemark Abbey was one of 12 American wineries chosen to compete in the historic Judgment of Paris tasting in 1976. It was the only producer with entries in both the Cabernet and the Chardonnay flights. Today, the portfolio is comprised of an impressive collection. The winery showcases single vineyard designate wines from the prestigious Rutherford AVA, including the iconic Bosché and Sycamore Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons
