Can you imagine losing a barrel of Elijah Craig 10YO barrel proof? That briefly happened to us with this very barrel. Selected early this year, the bottles that represented the entirety of this S2B7 barrel disappeared after leaving Heaven Hill. Months later, we discovered this barrel in a retail warehouse as we were set to release S2B27. It's a beautiful release —a standout 10-year-old barrel from Deatsville Warehouse CC, once home to the T.W. Samuels Distillery.

You will also quickly notice this is an eye-popping and palate-mesmerizing 130.2 proof bourbon release. What I love about this specific release is that it does not drink like it is anywhere near that proof point. Still, it's intense and complex enough to make it a versatile pour that will reveal new layers of complexity with a bit of water or a rock. On the nose, you'll discover graham crackers, dark fruit, and ginger. You will enjoy a range of complex flavors on the palate, including dark chocolate, honey, citrus, and clove.
