Winery Notes Established in 1985 by legendary vintners Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, our roots run deep at Decoy. Building on our rich winemaking heritage, we invite you to experience Decoy Limited. Crafted using grapes from some of the most acclaimed Napa Valley vineyards, including our own estate properties, this bold and luxurious wine is Decoy’s pinnacle Red Blend. Tasting Notes Our pinnacle red blend, this bold and luxurious wine combines the finest Napa Valley Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo to create an alluring and complex wine. On the palate, velvety tannins accentuate the generous fruit, with gorgeous flavors of black raspberry, cherry, cassis, briary spice and sweet French oak lingering on the long, delectable finish. Vintage Notes 2018 offered near picture-perfect growing conditions, with mild spring and summer weather, and no significant heat events. The excellent growing conditions naturally resulted in a slightly larger than average crop for our red varieties, with fully lignified seeds at low sugars levels. With temperate weather throughout fall, we were able to pick each block at optimal ripeness, yielding exceptionally juicy and polished red wines, with plush, well-rounded tannins, and lovely overall structure.
