A robust mix of fresh peaty aromas, constructed around a central core of apples and toasted nuts which have been dowsed in wild mountain honey.

Rich summer gold.

Sweet concentrated peat flavours dominate from the start. Bold and intense. The peaty heart is united with honey-infused raisins, roasted nuts and a luxurious leather impression. Full-bodied with fantastic length. A real heavyweight, which will impart a lasting impression on the palate.
About
Benriach is known for its bold approach to whisky making, distilling single malt whisky from both peated and unpeated malted barley. Thanks to this progressive, ‘dual distilling’ heritage, Benriach enjoys a rare collection of old peated Speyside Single Malt Whiskies. Benriach is one of just two remaining Speyside distilleries to seasonally produce whisky using malted barley from its own traditional floor maltings. The distillery has earned a reputation for innovation by using many different types of cask for maturing and finishing whisky. Whiskies are non-chill filtered for richness of flavour and are natural in colour. Benriach Septendecim continues the trend of using Latin names for our heavily peated expressions. It is distilled from heavily peated barley enabling us to capture the defining taste and aroma of peat. Aged in a mix of traditional hogshead casks made from the staves of used bourbon and Oloroso casks that both marry the flavour of peat to ripe fruits and sweet honey. Bottled at 92º proof and of natural colour, this is a real heavyweight.
