With the renovation of the Ardbeg Distillery in place, Dr. Bill Lumsden and the whisky creation team used their magic on this incredible, rare stock. Quietly maturing in Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks, unscathed by the digital age, this rare millennium spirit is ready to be released –as Vintage_Y2K.

      Vintage_Y2K is a unique 23-year-old whisky matured in Oloroso & Bourbon casks. Laid down in the year 2000 amidst the millenium bug frenzy, this liquid is the first release of this serendipitous rare stock.

      Nose

      A very curious hint of olive oil greets you, along with touches of tar, soot, chocolate ginger and even some freshly mown grass.

      Taste

      The mouthfeel is slightly oily, and is followed by an intense, minty sweetness, along with some toasting bread, creosote, coal tar soap and even a whiff of smoked pineapple. The deep, rich, flavors continue, with dark chocolate, peppermint creams, bonfire embers and camphor.

      Finish

      The finish is reminiscent of coffee grounds and licorice.
