These barrels offered a distinctive richness to their five-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, which finished in them for up to 16 months. Angel's Envy quickly became a fan favorite -- the whiskies released by the brand have been nothing short of astounding, and the bottle stands out in the ever crowded whiskey space. You absolutely can't miss it, and you know you're sure to enjoy the pour without fail. So, of course, since launching the Topflight Series Single Barrel program, we have been looking for a compelling way to showcase the groundbreaking work of Angel's Envy.

Ah here we are -- queue the "2001: A Space Odyssey" opening theme (Also Sprach Zarathustra) -- this Sherry Cask finished Bourbon for Angel's Envy is a 5-year-old bourbon that is then finished in an Oloroso Sherry Cask for 16-Months. While their widely available bourbon is finished in port wine barrels, this single barrel definitely takes the boldness, flavor, and complexity up a few notches. And If you have been a long-time collector of Angel's Envy, this is remnicent of their 2019 Oloroso Sherry Cask finished Limited Release that was an instant sell-out. On the nose, you'll discover scents including dark fruit, maple syrup, toasted oak, herbal tea. On the palate, it's rich with berry jam, caramel, marzipan, coconut, cacao. And this leads you into a finish of cinnamon, toasted cashew, milk chocolate, cherry, mint. With a very limited distribution, these single barrels should be a difficult find.
