Nose
Spice and seasoned oak. A tiny hint of root beer spice, toasted cedar, butter cookies. Agave spirit aroma and a scent of grilled pineapple with some brown sugar and creamy vanilla, plus a hint of cinnamon.
Palate
Complex with agave spirit still the frame but oak and baking spice notes are in the mix. Citrus peel and pith, bracingly tart, heat on lips, mid-tongue and mid-palate, curiously stopping before reaching the back of the palate. Very smooth and with a creamy mouth feel. A tequila with this much heft might typically bury you on one noted agave. There's more complexity here.
Finish
Warm and lingering, taste and flavor notes are true to the agave but the composition and complexity comprise of malt with apricot and coconut lingering beautifully.
