Bulleit Bourbon is inspired by the whiskey pioneered by an old family recipe over 150 years ago. Only ingredients of the very highest quality are used. The subtlety and complexity of Bulleit Bourbon come from its unique blend of rye, corn, and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone-filtered water. Due to its especially high rye content, Bulleit Bourbon has a bold, spicy character with a finish that's distinctively clean and smooth.
Brian Schmidt, Topflight Panel Member:
This was one of the very first barrels we selected for the Topflight Series, and it almost didn't happen. The Bulleit team was able to squeeze us in on our March 2022 selection trip last minute, and when we happened upon a sample that wasn't meant for us but we fell in love with, they were kind enough to let us have it. The nose on this pour is an aroma I could live in. Leather, burnt sugar, and a savory element I associate with sherry cask finishes. This is an extremely well-balanced bourbon on the palate with distinct sugary cereal notes (think Fruit Loops). Plus, a baking spice-forward nuttiness that evolves into a fruit and oak finish. I didn't take great notes on this pour when we initially selected it because I didn't think it was an option at the time. Let's just say I'm very happy to find that this barrel is as good as I remember it being. Get your hands on this great-tasting Kentucky bourbon before it sells out.
